Taxi collides with garbage truck in Jurong West, cabby taken to hospital

SINGAPORE - A 64-year-old taxi driver was taken to hospital unconscious after an accident with a garbage truck in Jurong West on Friday (Sept 29) morning.

The Straits Times understands that the taxi had been in the wrong lane when it collided with the garbage truck.

A photo of the accident, posted on Facebook by user Dougles Chan, shows a red Trans-Cab with its left side wrecked.

The police told ST that they were alerted to the accident involving a taxi and garbage truck in Jurong West Street 75, towards Jurong West Street 81, at 10.36am.

The male taxi driver was unconscious when he was taken to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital.

As a result of the accident, four SBS Transit bus services were diverted, skipping two bus stops.

Bus diversions ended only at 1.22pm.
