Residents can enjoy better-maintained estates when sensors and artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms are used by 2025 to deliver municipal services such as the cleaning of public spaces and maintenance of roads and footpaths, said the Ministry of National Development (MND).
Associate Professor Bo An of Nanyang Technological University's School of Computer Science and Engineering said that AI can, for instance, identify the places that need to be cleaned and determine the best schedule for cleaners to avoid inconveniencing residents.
