SYF 2013 celebrations to feature more art forms

This year's Singapore Youth Festival Celebrations will showcase a wider variety of art forms, such as street dance and beat-boxing.

The five-day arts festival which started on Tuesday, will see about 5,000 students from 167 schools performing at various locations including the Esplanade, Ngee Ann City and Suntec City. Performances include Commonwealth Secondary School's choir, Crescent Girls' School's concert band, and a solo beatboxing performance by Manjusri Secondary School student Jay Huang.

Previously, only performances from seven categories - arts and crafts, band, Chinese orchestra, choir, dance, drama and instrumental ensembles - were featured.

Festival visitors can also take part in art workshops, such as the Instagram and street photography master class and the 3D Paper Collage workshop. For more information on the festival visit www.singaporeyouthfestival.sg
