Supermarkets to halt cigarette sales on Sunday, in support of No Tobacco Day

SINGAPORE - Supermarket chains Cold Storage, Jasons, Market Place, NTUC Fairprice, Prime and Sheng Siong will not be selling cigarettes on Sunday, in support of World No Tobacco Day.

To help those who want to quit smoking, the Health Promotion Board (HPB) has set up more than 280 locations for smokers to sign up for free smoking cessation counselling and programmes, at pharmacies such as Guardian, Unity and Watsons.

To sign up for the 'I Quit 28-Day Countdown' programme, smokers can visit the pharmacies or register themselves online at www.hpb.gov.sg/iquit28.

Smokers may also call the QuitLine at 1800-438 2000 for more information.
