Bodyguards jog alongside Kim's sedan

SINGAPORE • Men in sharp suits were spotted jogging alongside a Mercedes Maybach believed to be carrying North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, as it arrived at the St Regis hotel yesterday shortly after Mr Kim had touched down at Changi Airport.

Bodyguards also surrounded Mr Kim's car during his summit with South Korean President Moon Jae In at the inter-Korean border in April.

The guards are chosen for their fitness, marksmanship, martial arts skills and even looks.

Plane spotters eager to see VIPs' aircraft

SINGAPORE • Fifty plane spotters, including several who had flown in from Japan, China, Indonesia and even as far as Canada, were seen at Changi Beach yesterday trying to capture the arrivals of United States President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.

Mr Kok Chwee Sim, who has been taking aircraft photographs for more than 30 years, said: "We were a trigger-happy bunch and when the clicking stopped, there were smiles all round and high-fives.
