SINGAPORE - What better way to start off the Chinese Year of the Dog than with pick-me-up photos of pet pooches?
The Straits Times would like readers to share CNY-themed photos of their dogs on Instagram using the hashtag #STYearofDog for a chance to be featured in our online photo gallery.
The first day of Chinese New Year falls on Feb 16 this year, and the zodiac animal for the year is the companionable canine.
Already, hotels, restaurants and other companies are rolling out dog-themed items such as yusheng or raw fish in the shape of canines.
Pet groomers say they have seen the typical surge in the number of customers taking their dogs to the shops to be cleaned up for the occasion.
Here's what you need to do to be featured in ST's festive-themed dog photo gallery: Share a photo of your dog on a public Instagram account from now till Feb 16.
The photo should have some elements that are related to Chinese New Year. Also, share with us in the caption a bit about how you are celebrating the occasion with your dog, or any Chinese New Year greetings or wishes you may have for the year ahead.
Most importantly - remember to use the hashtag: "#STYearofDog".
