SINGAPORE - A 22-year-old Nanyang Technological University (NTU) student was arrested on Nov 9 after he was filmed walking naked on campus.

A video circulating on social media platforms on Nov 11 shows the man walking on the pavement near a road, with a caption stating that this was recorded in NTU.

In response to The Straits Times’ queries, the police said that they received a call for assistance at about 10.15am on Nov 9 opposite 110 Nanyang Crescent, which is the address of NTU’s Sports & Recreation Centre.

“A 22-year-old man was arrested for appearing nude in a public place. No injuries were reported,” said the police, adding that investigations are ongoing.

A university spokesperson said that a male student was reported walking naked in an outdoor public area on campus on the morning of Nov 9, with campus security locating him shortly after. He was then detained by the police.

NTU has since reached out to the student and affected students to extend its support where necessary.

The spokesperson added that the school “remains committed to maintaining a safe and respectful campus environment and will take necessary measures to protect the campus community”.
