Stepping up to raise funds for those in need

Dancers from Studio Wu's Elite Team busted out their best moves for charity yesterday at the Festival of Creative Arts and Living Lasting Legacy Project in Safra Toa Payoh.

They joined more than 200 students from 20 schools who put on performances and offered services like face painting and massages to raise funds for needy students through The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund.

At a separate event at the Singapore Discovery Centre yesterday, teams from 30 schools raised over $13,000 at Singapore's second Youth Entrepreneurs Competition. Half the proceeds will go to the school pocket money fund, and the other half will be donated to charities of the students' choice.
