Stay vigilant in maintaining Singapore's security, urges DPM Teo

SINGAPORE - Stay vigilant in maintaining the safety and security of Singapore, especially when faced with new challenges, urged Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean at a dining-in held in honour of his contributions to the Home Team on Wednesday (Dec 2).

Mr Teo, who is also Coordinating Minister for National Security, was Minister for Home Affairs from 2011 to this year.

He also expressed his appreciation to Home Team officers for their commitment and dedication.

In a speech at the event, the current Minister for Home Affairs, Mr K Shanmugam, highlighted the three key areas that Mr Teo had contributed to the Home Team.

"He has laid strong foundations for the Home Team to embark on its long-term transformation journey. Because of his leadership, the Home Team is now a stronger operational outfit, more prepared for contingencies, and better ready for the future," Mr Shanmugam added.

Also present at the event, held at the Senior Police Officers' Mess, were Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Masagos Zulkifli, Parliamentary Secretary for Home Affairs Amrin Amin and about 100 officers from the Ministry of Home Affairs' senior management and the Home Team.
