StarHub has doubled its rebate for subscribers who choose to catch the English Premier League (EPL) cross-carried on its set-top.

From an initial rebate of $300, subscribers will now enjoy up to $30 off their bills per month up to a maximum total of $600. If the StarHub TV bill amounts to less than $30 per month, it will be waived fully. All StarHub TV customers, both new and existing, are eligible for this contract-free offer, and have until Sept 30 to sign up.

The telco's latest move came after consumers complained that its EPL package was confusing. In a tug of war with SingTel which offers a rebate of $480, StarHub latest offer looks set to gain an edge over its rival as football fans rush to sign up for the BPL coverage which starts on Aug 17.

Over the past three years, SingTel had exclusive rights to screen the EPL until it was told to share its broadcasting rights with StarHub by the Media Development Authority for this coming season.
