Following an intimate marriage solemnisation in January, Singapore Idol 3 winner Sezairi Sezali had a grand wedding dinner last night to celebrate his nuptials with his wife, Ms Syaza Qistina Tan, an events executive at a hotel.

Held at the SAF Yacht Club in Changi, the 28-year old singer and his glowing 25-year-old bride were all smiles when they entered the wedding hall in their matching bright red outfits, surrounded by a five-member bridal party which included radio DJ Tabitha Nauser, a Singapore Idol alumnus.

The waterfront wedding venue was a picturesque spot at sunset and decorated in shades of pink and white, with splashes of blue for the wedding. The wedding cake, an elaborate six-tier stack in royal blue and white, was adorned with crystals and framed by a ring of purple and white flowers.

Sezairi is the last of the three Singapore Idol winners to tie the knot. Taufik Batisah, the first Singapore Idol, got married in April last year and the second winner, Hady Mirza, did so in Johor Baru two years ago.

For the couple, the dinner was a chance to end their wedding celebrations with a bang, surrounded by 200 of their loved ones, friends and family.

Said Sezairi during the dinner: "We kept the solemnisation very intimate but we're so happy to have so many of our friends and family here tonight. This reception was our chance to throw a great party for the people who matter the most to us."

Spotted in the crowd were familiar faces from the music industry, including members of home-grown bands The Sam Willows and 53A, composer Jeremy Monteiro, actresses Oon Shu An and Pam Oei and Singapore rappers Shigga Shay and Kevin Lester.

Comedian Fakkah Fuzz was the emcee for the evening and singer-songwriter Charlie Lim performed a song for the couple.

The celebration had the newlyweds shedding happy tears when members of the bridal party in their speeches congratulated the pair.

The biggest smile on Ms Tan's face was reserved for her husband, who joined Lim on stage for a surprise performance where the two men sang a duet.

Sezairi later performed solo a ballad he wrote in Malay for his wife which had the entire ballroom mesmerised.

His seven-year-long courtship and marriage were the inspiration for his latest self-titled EP and he will be holding a ticketed performance on Sept 2.
