SINGAPORE - The Straits Times won 11 awards at Singapore Press Holdings' annual English/Malay/Tamil Media (EMTM) group awards ceremony on Wednesday.
Four of them went to works featured on the publication's online platform, straitstimes.com, which swept all the digital awards.
Winners included a video on Singapore's Naval Diving Unit and an interactive infographic on the science behind a tsunami.

1. Best Video of the Year
Alphonsus Chern and Caroline Chia won the award for their video Combat Divers Special: Surviving Hell Week. The video follows some 70-odd cold, wet, and sandy trainees of the Republic of Singapore Navy's 40th Combat Diver Course as they endure their Team Building Week - also known as Hell Week.
2. Best Cross Media Story of the Year
The microsite, titled Ocean's Fury, was created by a team of 20 and detailed the lessons learnt from the 2004 Indian Ocean tsunami. The team members were Lin Zhaowei, Nilanjana Sengupta, Sally Lam, Hayati Ismail, Chng Choon Hiong, Nirmal Ghosh, Zubaidah Nazeer, Desmond Lim, Chang Ai-Lien, Jermyn Chow, Hoe Pei Shan, Rodolfo Pazos, Yime Benites, Ng Kai Ling, Huda Aziz, David Gan, Ashleigh Sim, Alphonsus Chern, Grace Sung & Shefali Rekhi.
3. Best Interactive Infographics of the Year
The award went to an interactive infographics titled How The Tsunami Happened, created by Chng Choon Hiong. The informative piece takes viewers through the science behind the waves and details exactly how the natural disaster occurs.
4. Best Digital Package of the Year
A team of 22 won the award for their digital package, titled Bumper Festive Issue, which was the December issue of The Life, a monthly e-magazine. The team members were Lee Siew Hua, Elisabeth Gwee, Grace Sung, Marlone Rubio, Ng Kai Ling, Derrick Ho, Benson Ang, Natasha Ann Zachariah, Lydia Vasko, Leslie Kay Lim, Stacey Chia, Huang Lijie, Tan Hsueh Yun, Sherwin Loh, Trevor Tan, Vincent Chang, Wong Ah Yoke, David Gan, Ashleigh Sim, Manuel A Francisco, Ng Sor Luan and Desmond Wee.
The issue featured articles on Peter Lim's daughter Kim and other It girls in Singapore, holiday getaways of people in the news and entrepreneur Elaine Kim's tips on how to throw a fabulous Christmas party.
