SINGAPORE - Two news websites owned by media group Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) are among the three news websites that are most popular with companies planning to advertise online, a new survey has shown.

Online news portal AsiaOne and the website of local broadsheet The Straits Times, both owned by SPH, came in first and third place respectively in the news website category of the Digital Media of the Year survey, conducted by trade magazine Marketing. MediaCorp-owned news website Channel NewsAsia took second spot.

The survey polled a total of 700 industry professionals from sectors such as banks, property and construction, IT and telecommunications, and travel and tourism.

SPH's finance daily, The Business Times, took first place in the business and finance category.

Websites run by SPH subsidiaries fared well too.

Online motoring portal sgCarMart and the website of motoring magazine Torque took the first and second place respectively in the cars category.

Property site STProperty was ranked second in the property category, while online luxury magazine Luxury Insider was ranked second in the luxury category. Young Parents came in third in the parenting category.
