SINGAPORE - Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) Magazines clinched two prizes for its custom-published titles at the Pearl Awards 2015 in New York City.

Travel magazine SilverKris and luxury lifestyle publication The Johnnie Walker House Edit (TJWHE) each won a gold award at the awards on Nov 10.

Both are published under SPH Magazines' custom publishing unit, which produces publications sponsored by companies and whose content caters to their customers.

Held annually by The Content Council, an organisation made up of leading custom publishers, the Pearl Awards recognise excellence in content marketing across print, digital and multi-channel platforms.

This year's instalment saw nearly 500 entries from leading brands, publishers and agencies.

This June's issue of SilverKris, the monthly inflight travel magazine of Singapore Airlines, won the Apex Award for Best Print Magazine (Editorial). The issue's highlights included The Rhone Less Travelled, a feature on Canada's Okanagan Valley coming of age as a winemaking centre, and Let The Games Begin, on the Singapore Sports Hub.

TJWHE, a quarterly magazine published for drinks company Diageo, garnered an award for Best Print Magazine (Design). The quarterly journal is distributed to clients at various Johnnie Walker Houses in North Asia and other locations.

At last year's Pearl Awards, TJWHE won a gold award in the best new magazine (design) category, while SilverKris' revamped website www.silverkris.com took home a bronze award for best overall web design.

Said Ms Dora Tay, senior editor of SPH Magazines' custom publishing: "We are delighted that SilverKris and TJWHE have been recognised by the Pearl Awards committee once again this year.

"Pursuing publication excellence in our custom titles remains a top priority for our team, alongside stellar design and top quality content catered to our various readers."
