Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) emerged a big winner at this year's Pacific Area Newspaper Publishers' Association (Panpa) Advertising and Marketing Awards by bagging three awards.
The company won the Best Print Single Advertisement for Client for its Swarovski Christmas advertisement and was "highly commended" in the Best Print Campaign for a Client category for the SPH Scholarship "Question" campaign that promotes journalism as a career.
SPH Marketing's CreativeLab head Tommy Lim was also named Creative Services Professional of the Year under the Executive Excellence categories. The award recognises those who strive for excellence, put the client first and deliver great results.
With over 25 years of experience in advertising, Mr Lim has received multiple awards at the New York Advertising Fest, Panpa Awards, Singapore Creative Circle Awards and SPH iink Awards.
The annual Panpa Advertising and Marketing Awards honour the best sales, marketing and creative contributions to the news media sector, and is presented by The Newspaper Works - an industry body that promotes the value of news, and researches media trends and audience behaviour, among other things.
More than 300 industry professionals attended this year's ceremony on Thursday at The Art Gallery of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia.
SPH chief executive Alan Chan said: "These awards are testament to SPH's commitment to constantly innovate and deliver creative solutions to our advertisers. With the rapidly evolving media scene, coupled with changing media consumption habits, we see the need to proactively generate new ideas to stay ahead as Asia's leading media company."
