To provide more coordinated social services, the Government will develop a national case management and information system for the social service sector.

Beneficiaries will receive more timely and integrated assistance without having to repeat information or submit the same documents each time they go to different agencies, said Minister for Social and Family Development Chan Chun Sing on Wednesday. He was speaking on the sidelines of a visit to Kampong Kapur Family Service Centre.

The system will first be rolled out to the Social Service Offices and the Family Service Centres by mid-2015, and other social service agencies will brought on board progressively. The call for tenders was made on Wednesday and more details of the system are expected to be known by the middle of next year.

Mr Chan added that protection of beneficiaries' privacy will be an important feature of the system, and their consent will be sought to collect and use the data.
