SMRT to close stretches of Circle Line for cable replacement on two Sunday mornings

SMRT will close stretches of track on the Circle Line on two Sunday mornings this month as it speeds up the replacement of power cables.

On June 9 and June 23, both Botanic Gardens and Farrer Road stations will operate with a single platform from 6am to 10am.

Trains going in either direction will stop at the same platform, as the other side is closed for engineers to swop out power cables.

SMRT will put up signs at affected stations and make announcements to inform passengers of the change in service during those periods.

It said passengers travelling between Caldecott and Holland Village stations should expect an additional 15 minutes in travelling time.

The operator began replacing power cables along the entire line in January, and expects to finish all works by this December.
