SMRT holds briefing to address delays caused by train fault on North-South Line

Train operator SMRT will hold a press conference at 11.45am on Monday to address the delays caused a train fault on the North-South Line earlier this morning. The conference will be chaired by SMRT chief executive Desmond Kuek.

Some commuters on the North-South Line were delayed by as much as 40 minutes due a train fault at Ang Mo Kio station. At about 8.54am, an announcement was made asking all passengers to alight at Ang Mo Kio. Bus services have been activated between Woodlands and Bishan.

Civil servant Joanne Ko, 25, took the train at Yishun and got off at Yio Chu Kang to switch to a taxi. She was heading to her office in Raffles Place. "I was stuck on the train for nearly 30 minutes."
