Small companies giving more per donor to ComChest

Small companies with fewer than 100 staff in their ranks have more than doubled the average amount each employee gives every month to the Community Chest.

Individuals gave an average of $9.05 per month in Financial Year 2012 to Share - the Community Chest's workplace giving programme. This is double the $4.40 they gave every month in FY 2007.

ComChest also found that slightly larger companies with fewer than 500 staff have also maintained among the highest growth in each individual's average monthly donation over the past six years, compared to companies of other sizes.

One such company is Langdon & Seah, with a staff strength of about 380, which has seen its average monthly donation per donor grow by 43 per cent since 1984, when Share was first started. In total, the Share programme raised $13.5 million for FY2012, which is a five per cent increase from the previous financial year.
