Slower train services on Circle Line; second incident in a day involving SMRT

PASSENGERS on the Circle Line experienced slower services at the start of Thursday's evening rush hour, caused by a technical glitch.

In a Facebook post, train operator SMRT said a power trip caused the communication systems on the line to fail at 5.55pm. The problem was rectified after the integrated supervisory control system was recovered and full train resumed by 6.10pm.

The Circle Line glitch is the second incident in involving SMRT-operated train networks.

Earlier on Thursday morning, service on the Bukit Panjang LRT was delayed by a stalled train that prevented other trains from exiting the depot. SMRT said an operator error caused a stalled train to block the depot exit routes on the track.
