Firefighters have a new way to quickly get to their vehicles after receiving an emergency call. Staff Sergeant Andika Salimi, 25, of the Singapore Civil Defence Force yesterday showed what Jurong Fire Station staff will now do - zip down a slide instead of the traditional pole. The station, which officially opened yesterday, is the first in Singapore to have a firefighter's slide. The move aims to enhance the safety of personnel without compromising their response time.
