Sixth person charged over Cathay Cineleisure slashing

A sixth man was charged on Wednesday over the slashing of a full-time national serviceman (NSF) outside Cathay Cineleisure Orchard two Saturdays ago.

Muhamad Hardi Azaman, 19, is accused of being with Muhammad Fahmi Razali, 20, and more than three others in an unlawful assembly to cause hurt to NSF Wilson Siau, 20, who was attacked with parangs at Grange Road at 9.12pm on June 15.

Mr Siau was injured in the head and arms and has since been discharged from hospital.

Hardi is remanded at Central Police Division lock-up for investigation. He will appear in court again on July 3. If convicted of rioting with deadly weapons, he could be jailed for up to 10 years and caned.
