To ensure customers get their gifts and purchases on time, SingPost is beefing up its operations with effect from Saturday. It will deploy additional manpower and extend its operations to meet the expected increase in demand.
Some of these measures include the delivery of mail packets on all Saturdays this month. Singpost will also increase its courier strength by 20 per cent so that customers who opt for Speedpost will be able to receive their parcels during Saturdays and Sundays till mid January next year.
From Dec 19 to 24, an additional 250 staff including management staff, will also be rostered to help out during lunch-time peak hours at post offices with high traffic. There will be additional collections made at all posting boxes this month.
Delivery of local mail packets and publications as well as non-standard mail is three to five working days. In view of this, customers are encouraged to post their items early, said SingPost in its press statement.
