Singapore Environmental Achievement awards revised to reach out to SMEs

The Singapore Environment Council is revising its awards criteria in a bid to reach out to more small-and-medium enterprises. They will be weighted differently from large organisations and multinational corporations.

The Singapore Environmental Achievement Awards, into its 16th years, aims to encourage Singapore-based organisations to be more environmentally conscious.

SEC has also made other tweaks to the criteria including allowing Singapore-based companies with overseas operations to apply for the Regional category award this year.

Non-profit organisations, including inter-governmental organisations and non-governmental organisations are also eligible to apply for the award in the Public Sector category.

The category was previously only opened to ministries, statutory boards, organs of state, and other organisations and public services listed in the Singapore Government Directory.

Applications opened on Wednesday and will close on April 19. For more information on eligibility, application guidelines and award categories, visit www.seaa.sg
