The Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao have set up dedicated teams to cover the summit, providing on-the-ground reporting of breaking news, as well as in-depth analyses from seasoned commentators.

Readers of Singapore's two major dailies, The Straits Times and Lianhe Zaobao, can look forward to free access to comprehensive coverage of the summit between the American and North Korean leaders on Tuesday.

All you have to do is sign up at stsub.sg/tks from this Saturday for access to both www.straits times.com and www.zaobao.sg. The limited-time free access will also allow readers to read non-summit-related exclusive stories.

In addition, two new Samsung Galaxy S9 (64GB) smartphones, worth $1,198 each, will be given away in a lucky draw to two lucky readers who complete an e-mail survey after signing up. The draw will be held on July 2, and the winnersannounced the next day.

Both papers have set up dedicated teams to cover the summit.

They will be providing on-the-ground reporting, breaking news as well as in-depth analyses from seasoned commentators.

Mr Warren Fernandez, ST editor and editor-in-chief of Singapore Press Holdings' English/Malay/ Tamil Media Group, said: "This summit will be a big event for all of us in Singapore, including our newsrooms. As the host country, our media too will be going all out to cover the event well, not just with the latest news, but also giving insider perspectives from our unique vantage point as seasoned Asia watchers.

"We will be putting out content on all our platforms, especially digital, to reach a wide audience everywhere. And we want to share this with as many people as possible.

"We hope that many will take up this offer to experience our ST content."

Ms Han Yong May, Chinese Media Group NewsHub editor, echoed Mr Fernandez.

She said: "The Trump-Kim summit is of historic significance. Our team at Chinese Media Group NewsHub is fully invested to bring to you the most timely and comprehensive reports and analysis.

She added that her team will also be putting out a live broadcast of the summit.

The Capella hotel on Sentosa is set to host the historic summit, the first between a sitting US president and a North Korean leader.
