SIA plane makes emergency landing in Bangkok after smoke detected

A Singapore Airlines (SIA) flight that took off from Singapore and was heading to Dhaka, Bangladesh on Monday was diverted to Bangkok after "indications of smoke" from the aircraft's rear cargo hold.

In a statement to The Straits Times, SIA confirmed the incident and said that investigations are being carried out by the Thai authorities. The airlines added that it was providing its full co-operation and it is also carrying out its own investigations.

All 105 passengers and 12 crew members were unhurt.
