Among the promises made by the Holiday Inn Sandton hotel was an increase in its patrols. Security at the gate would be tightened while the entrance would also be brightened.

SINGAPORE - Security guards at the hotel in Johannesburg where Singapore Airlines (SIA) crew regularly stay during their layovers will now be armed with guns.
This comes after two SIA crew members were robbed at gunpoint at the hotel entrance on Aug 14.
