FairPrice Foundation, Yeo Hiap Seng and convenience store chain Cheers yesterday made a joint donation of $40,000 to The Straits Times School Pocket Money Fund (STSPMF), which helps socially disadvantaged school-going children pay for their lunch and transport fares. This comes after a 11/2-month campaign, where FairPrice Foundation and Yeo Hiap Seng each donated 20 cents to the fund for all Yeo's Asian drinks purchased at Cheers and FairPrice Xpress stores islandwide. The three organisations have collectively donated $130,000 to the fund since 2014. To mark the occasion, 25 beneficiaries of STSPMF enjoyed a shopping spree at Cheers@Downtown East yesterday, each receiving $10 to buy any items of their choice.
