Sembawang Primary pupil in fatal accident most likely ran across road

Sembawang Primary School pupil Lee Yu Heng most likely ran across the pedestrian crossing when the signalised pedestrian was red.

That was the findings of investigations into the fatal accident in January that killed the nine-year-old, accepted by State Coroner Imran Abdul Hamid on Tuesday.

Yu Heng was hit by a speeding car hit him as he crossed the road near the school entrance.

The result of the Coroner's Inquiry was based on the corroborated accounts of three witnesses who had testified during the hearing, which ended last year.
