Search and rescue operations to locate a man who fell into the waters off East Coast Park (ECP) beach are underway.

A Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) spokesman said on Saturday that they were informed of the incident earlier at about 11.15am, and dispatched a fire engine, a red rhino, two ambulances and two support vehicles to the scene.

SCDF divers were also deployed for the search for the man, who is believed to be a Chinese national.

He had apparently fallen into the water while he was fishing with two friends.
