SCDF to conduct operational exercise at Woodlands Checkpoint on April 6

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) will be conducting an operational exercise involving about 90 personnel at Woodlands Checkpoint on Thursday (April 6).

The exercise, supported by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and Singapore Police Force (SPF), will start at 12.30am and end at 3am, SCDF said in a news release on Tuesday (April 4).

The lanes at the Departure Bus Concourse at the checkpoint will be partially closed throughout the exercise to facilitate the movement and deployment of vehicles.

About 20 emergency vehicles and support vehicles will be deployed in the exercise, which is part of the Home Team's ongoing efforts to validate and update its operational plans and procedures.

In its release, SCDF advised the public not to be alarmed. The beacon lights of all operational vehicles involved in the exercise will be turned on to alert motorists, and signs will also be put up in the area to alert the public of the exercise.
