SINGAPORE - SBS Transit has apologised after one of its buses accidentally entered the motorcycle lane towards the Johor Bahru Customs building and hit a height barrier on the morning of Aug 7.

“Thankfully, no one on board including the bus captain was hurt. We apologise to affected commuters and motorcyclists for the inconvenience caused,” said SBS Transit spokeswoman Grace Wu.

She added that SBS Transit is assisting the Malaysian police with its investigations.

Mrs Wu did not say how long the bus service was delayed as a result of the incident, or how many passengers were on board when it happened.

A video of the incident, circulated on social media, shows a stationary bus service number 170 under a height barrier.

A sign in the video suggests the incident occurred in the direction of traffic travelling to Singapore.

Motorcyclists are seen travelling around the bus, which occupies almost the entire single lane. A queue of riders waiting to go around the bus can also be seen behind the vehicle.

SBS Transit service 170 runs between Larkin Terminal in Johor Bahru and Queen Street Terminal near Jalan Besar.
