Samsung device owners can purchase games, ebooks and apps via PayPal

Users of Samsung devices can now tap onto their PayPal funds to pay for movies, ebooks games and other downloads on the tech giant's app and hub stores.

Announcing the new option on Friday, PayPal said the service will be available to users in nine countries including Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Germany, and in Britain. It will be made available in the United States soon.

The new payment option means consumers in these countries can make purchases on Samsung Apps and in the Samsung Hub using their existing PayPal account, without having to re-enter their credit card details.

App developers will however need to have a PayPal account on their end too for this payment method to be made available to consumers. This will allow developers to get paid for app purchases directly and immediately instead of relying on wire transfers.
