Safe Cycling Task Force rolls out road safety education initiative

As part of an initiative to increase public awareness of road safety, the Safe Cycling Task Force (SCTF) together with the Singapore Traffic Police and North East Community Development Council (NECDC) held a Safe Cycling Clinic at Tampines Secondary School on Wednesday.

The clinic covered topics such as the importance of pre-cycling checks and appropriate safety gear, as well as right-of-way on the roads and footpaths.

SCTF's president Steven Lim, stressed the importance of personal responsibility. "No amount of infrastructure or rules can keep you safe if you don't take responsibility for yourself," he said.

The talk comes in the wake of the recent Tampines accident where two brothers died when they were hit by a cement truck while cycling.
