SAF to conduct military and live firing exercises

SINGAPORE - The Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) will conduct military exercises in Seletar, Marsiling, Jalan Bahar, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang, Jalan Kwok Min, Tuas, Upper Jurong, Hong Kah, Ama Keng, Bedok Jetty, Kranji, Lentor, Simpang, Sembawang, Mandai from 8am on Monday to 8am on Feb 9.

Blanks and thunderflashes will be used, the Ministry of Defence said in a release. The public is advised to keep clear of these areas.

SAF LIVE FIRING EXERCISES (ARMY)

The SAF will conduct Live Firing Exercises in Pasir Laba (Safti) Live Firing Area from 8am Monday to 8am on Feb 9.

Sea vessels and crafts sailing through the Western Johor Straits during this period are advised to keep within the 75m Navigable Sea Lane and not to stray into the live firing boundary.

Live ammunition and flares will be used. The public is advised to keep clear of these areas, Mindef said in its release.

SAF MILITARY EXERCISES (RSAF)

The Republic of Singapore Air Force (RSAF) will conduct a military exercise from Monday to Feb 13. There will be increased flying activities during this period and loud noises will be experienced as the aircraft transit to their training areas.

RSAF LIVE-FIRING EXERCISES

The RSAF will be conducting live firing exercises around Pulau Sudong, Pulau Pawai and Pulau Senang from Monday to Friday daily from 7am to 11pm, until Feb 6. There will be an exercise from 8am on Feb 7 to 4am on Feb 8; and from 8am to noon on Feb 8. Flares will be released during the night firing.

The public is advised to keep clear of Pulau Pawai, Pulau Senang and Pulau Sudong which lie within the Live Firing Areas, Mindef said.
