SAF holds military and live firing exercises in February

Military and live firing exercises will be conducted between Feb 11 and Feb 18. The Defence Ministry (Mindef) in a statement on Thursday advised the public not to be alarmed, and to keep clear of affected areas.

Areas affected by the exercises are Seletar, Marsiling, Jalan Bahar, Neo Tiew, Lim Chu Kang, Jalan Kwok Min, Tuas, Upper Jurong, Hong Kah, Ama Keng, Bedok Jetty, Kranji, Lentor, Simpang, Sembawang and Mandai.

SAF will also be conducting live firing exercises, with live ammunition and flares, at Pasir Laba (SAFTI) Live Firing Area. Sea vessels sailing through the Western Johor Straits are advised to keep within the 75m Navigable Sea Lane.

Meanwhile, the Republic of Singapore Air Force will carry out live firing exercises around Pulau Sudong, Pulau Pawai and Pulau Senang from Feb 11 to Feb 17. Flares will be released during night firing. Detonation and burning will also be conducted on Feb 16 and Feb 17.
