The Republic of Singapore Navy's (RSN) RSS Endeavour is one of more than 56 ships in Sydney, Australia for the International Fleet Review, the Defence Ministry said in a statement on Saturday.

The event is to commemorate the centenary of the first entry of the Australian Navy's Fleet into Sydney started on Thursday and will last until next Friday. It was preceded by the Asean Defence Ministers' Meeting-Plus Maritime Security Field Training Exercise, which ended on Tuesday.

The fleet was reviewed on Saturday by Australia's Governor-General Quentin Bryce AC CVO. RSN midshipmen on board the RSS Endeavour for their Midshipman Sea Training Deployment will also take part in the Combined Navies Parade.

The Singapore Armed Forces and the Australian Defence Force have extensive interactions including bilateral and multilateral exercises and professional exchanges, and have also worked together in reconstruction efforts in Afghanistan, said the Defence Ministry. These interactions have deepened the close and longstanding defence relationship between the two countries.
