Work hours could one day be restricted to before the sun rises and after it sets, and most manual work undertaken by robots and machines controlled by people donning Dune-style suits to beat the heat.
As the island gets warmer, the way people work and live outdoors in Singapore is likely to change drastically, said Dr Fabian Lim of the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine at Nanyang Technological University.
