Road closures on Sunday for state funeral of Mr Lee Kuan Yew

SINGAPORE - Several roads will be closed on Sunday to facilitate State Funeral Procession and State Funeral Service, said the Traffic Police.

The State Funeral Service for the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew will be held at the University Cultural Centre (UCC) located at the National University of Singapore (NUS) on Sunday. It will commence at 2pm.

The State Funeral Procession for the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew will be held on the same day, at 12.30pm. It will leave Parliament House for the University Cultural Centre.

After the State Funeral Service, the body of the late Mr Lee Kuan Yew will be brought to Mandai Crematorium.

The following roads will be closed to facilitate the procession and the funeral service during the stipulated timing:

Traffic is expected to be heavy along the following roads to facilitate the procession from the University Cultural Centre to Mandai Crematorium from 4pm to 6pm:

1) Clementi Road

2) Commonwealth Avenue West

3) Commonwealth Avenue

4) Queensway

5) Farrer Road

6) Adam Road

7) Lornie Road

8) Upper Thomson Road

9) Sembawang Road

10) Mandai Avenue

Public bus services will be diverted due to the road closures. Members of the public may refer to www.mytransport.sg, www.sbstransit.com.sg and www.smrt.com.sg for details on the bus service diversions.

Police officers and Auxiliary Police Officers will be stationed at all affected road junctions to direct traffic. Motorists are also reminded not to park illegally along the affected roads as their vehicles will be towed away.
