SINGAPORE - Flash floods may occur in Tanjong Pagar, Serangoon, Upper Paya Lebar and East Coast on July 21.
In posts on social media platform X, national water agency PUB advised the public to avoid Craig Road, spanning from Duxton Road to Tanjong Pagar Road, for one hour from 11.20am due to the risk of flash floods.
From 11.30am, it advised the public to avoid Lorong Gambir in Serangoon for the next one hour.
The public should also avoid these areas in Upper Paya Lebar for an hour starting from 11.38am:
Upper Payar Lebar Service Road, spanning from Lim Teck Boo Road to Rochdale Road
Jalan Lokam near Upper Payar Lebar Road
Thrift Drive near Jalan Usaha
In an X post at 12.01pm, PUB advised the public to avoid Jalan Pokok Serunai, off Upper East Coast Road, for the next one hour.
The Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS) said in its fortnightly update on July 16 that short, thundery showers are forecast in the late mornings and afternoons over parts of the island on some days in the next two weeks.
There may also be widespread thundery showers and gusty winds before dawn and in the morning on one or two days because of Sumatra squalls
