She was surprised to get a call from The Straits Times on Wednesday with news that she had won a Samsung Series 9 notebook.
Retired teacher Alicia Chen Poh Kim's entry was picked from among 10,240 to win the coveted laptop.
Priced at $1,799, the gadget has been called a head-turner for its slim, light and magnesium build.
The contest, sponsored by Samsung Singapore, ran throughout June.
Readers were encouraged to share the contest with their friends.
Mrs Chen, 64, who has two sons, said of her win: "I was very surprised, but happy. I feel really lucky."
Asked what she planned to do with the laptop, she admitted: "First I have to learn how to use it."
