SINGAPORE - For some residents living within a "special zone" that will subject those that enter to security checks and screening, the excitement of being within walking distance of historic events outweighs the inconvenience.

The special zone is located within a larger "special event area" declared over the June 10-14 period by the Government on Sunday (June 3) for the planned summit between United States President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un on June 12.
