Ready for the Rooster

On the night before Chinese New Year's Eve and the start of the Year of the Rooster, Singaporeans were out in force doing last-minute shopping to prepare for the annual Spring Festival.

The Straits Times checked out Chinatown and various spots around Singapore on Thursday, where people queued for yong tau foo and bak kwa (barbecued pork), while others shopped for festive dresses and flowers.
