A quantity surveyor who captured an "upskirt" video of a woman on his mobile phone was jailed for six weeks on Friday.
Lee Chung Kean, 26, a Malaysian, pleaded guilty to intruding into the privacy of the 24-year-old woman at the Singapore Pools branch in Jurong West Street 52 on Jan 9 this year.
The court heard that the victim was at the Singapore Pools outlet writing lottery tickets when one of her two male friends noticed Lee walking very close to her while he was holding onto his mobile phone and wallet.
A short while later, the victim's friend saw Lee still standing close to the victim while looking down at his mobile phone.
He confronted Lee, and upon checking his cellphone, found a video recording of the victim taken from under her dress. He detained Lee and called the police.
Lee could have been jailed for up to one year and/or fined for insulting the modesty of the woman.
