National agency PUB celebrated its 50th anniversary on Saturday.

A celebration dinner was held at Resorts World Sentosa, attended by Minister for the Environment and Water Resources Vivian Balakrishnan.

Formed on 1 May 1963, the PUB was set up as a statutory board to oversee the provision of water, electricity and gas here.

It was reconstituted in 2001 to become Singapore's national water agency, overseeing the water supply system, drainage system, used water system and water reclamation.
