Private bus driver dies after accident in Outram, passenger taken to hospital

SINGAPORE - A 62-year-old man died after the private bus he was driving got into an accident involving a lorry in Outram on March 12.
The police and the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they were alerted at around 11.20am to the accident, which took place near the junction of Eu Tong Sen Street and Outram Road, towards Cantonment Road.
The SCDF said two people were taken to Singapore General Hospital.
The 62-year-old driver was unconscious when he was taken to the hospital, where he later died, the police said. A 47-year-old passenger was conscious when taken to the hospital.
In a video posted on Stomp, a police motorcycle, an SCDF ambulance and two fire engines are seen on the leftmost lane.
A white bus appears to have mounted a kerb and is tilted to its right. An uprooted tree lies in front of the bus.
Investigations are ongoing.
