President Tony Tan Keng Yam took to the broking floor of financial markets operator ICAP yesterday, speaking to customers on the telephone and closing over $520 million worth of trades - all for a good cause. All commissions and revenue from the four deals which Dr Tan closed will go to charity, as part of the annual ICAP Charity Day. The actual sum is as yet unknown. The annual event also sees ICAP staff ditching their office wear for colourful costumes instead. ICAP Charity Day is observed at its offices worldwide, numbering around 60, with 100 per cent of revenue and commissions generated that day going to more than 200 charities. ICAP Singapore's four adopted charities this year are the President's Challenge, Down Syndrome Association (Singapore), KK Women's and Children's Hospital, and Red Cross Home for the Disabled.
