SINGAPORE - Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong will be visiting the US from Nov 10 to 18, where he will deliver a lecture at Harvard University, among other activities.
The Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) on Nov 9 gave an update of SM Lee’s working visit to the US. A spokesperson said the first stop of his visit will be Boston, Massachusetts.
SM Lee will deliver the annual Edwin L. Godkin Lecture at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government on Nov 12. A link to a live streaming of the lecture, which takes place between 1am and 2.15am Singapore time on Nov 13, will be available on the Senior Minister’s Facebook page.
According to the Harvard Kennedy School website, participants of the lecture can expect to hear how SM Lee sought to build national leadership and institutions, develop the economy and secure Singapore internationally.
The lecture will also include his insights on Singapore’s social and political cohesion, and how the country dealt with the Covid-19 pandemic.
There will be a moderated conversation after the lecture.
SM Lee will also be meeting the overseas Singaporean community in Boston, said the PMO spokesperson.
He will then travel to New York to attend GIC Insights, an event where prominent leaders discuss issues pertinent to the business and investment community, and commemorate sovereign wealth fund GIC’s 40th anniversary on Nov 13. SM Lee will be delivering a keynote speech in his capacity as chairman of the GIC board.
