How will the electoral landscape change?

There will be 15 SMCs, up from the current 14, and 18 GRCs, up from the current 17.

An estimated 2,753,226 Singaporeans will vote for 97 MPs.

What are the key changes?

Two new GRCs in the north-east

Out of all the existing electoral divisions, Pasir Ris-Punggol GRC has seen the largest increase in the number of voters since the last general election. The five-member GRC will be split between two new four-member GRCs.

The new Punggol GRC takes in estates in Punggol along with Punggol West SMC. Meanwhile, the new Pasir Ris-Changi GRC will take in the remaining estates in Pasir Ris along with the Loyang and Flora estates from East Coast GRC.

Jurong split up

What is now Jurong GRC will be split across four separate constituencies, including two new five-member GRCs.

The new Jurong East-Bukit Batok GRC will absorb the whole of Bukit Batok SMC, along with most of Jurong GRC and parts of Yuhua and Hong Kah North SMCs.

Estates in Jurong West and Taman Jurong will be taken in by the new West Coast-Jurong West GRC. A new Jurong Central SMC will also be carved out, and one Jurong GRC polling district east of Upper Bukit Timah Road will be absorbed by Holland-Bukit Timah GRC.

West Coast to merge with Jurong West

The new West Coast-Jurong West GRC will take in much of the existing West Coast GRC, along with estates in Jurong West and Taman Jurong.

To balance this out, other parts of West Coast GRC will be ceded to other constituencies. Estates in HarbourFront and Sentosa will now form part of Radin Mas SMC, while areas in Dover and Telok Blangah will go to Tanjong Pagar GRC.

Marine Parade to reabsorb MacPherson SMC

MacPherson SMC, which was carved out of Marine Parade GRC in 1997, will join the newly renamed Marine Parade-Braddell Heights GRC.

The new five-member constituency will also take in parts of Mountbatten and Potong Pasir SMCs, while ceding parts of Marine Parade GRC’s Chai Chee and Siglap estates to East Coast GRC.

Six new SMCs

Six new SMCs will be created in Bukit Gombak, Jalan Kayu, Jurong Central, Queenstown, Sembawang West and Tampines Changkat. Meanwhile, five SMCs - Bukit Batok, Hong Kah North, MacPherson, Punggol West and Yuhua - will be taken off the electoral map, bringing the total number of SMCs to 15, up from 14 in 2020.

Of the new ones, four will be carved out of existing single GRCs: Bukit Gombak from Chua Chu Kang GRC, Queenstown from Tanjong Pagar GRC, Sembawang West from Sembawang GRC, and Jalan Kayu from Ang Mo Kio GRC.

The other two will be made up of parts from various existing constituencies. The new Jurong Central SMC will take in parts of Yuhua SMC and Jurong GRC, while Tampines Changkat SMC will take in parts of Tampines and East Coast GRCs.
