SINGAPORE - The last terror attack carried out in Singapore is often recalled as a heroic rescue by special forces commandos, who stormed a hijacked Singapore Airlines plane on March 27, 1991, eliminating all four Pakistani perpetrators in under 30 seconds and freeing the 123 remaining hostages onboard.

Those involved say the whole incident was managed to a safe conclusion by a government-wide operation in well-honed teamwork.
